Tasting notes:

Lone Palm Vineyard Grenache was hand picked from gnarly 80 year old vines, slowly naturally fermented to create an ethereal wine that pays full respect to it’s place.

A nose of ripe black cherry juice, freshly squeezed, with some cinnamon and clove depth. This follows on the palate which is rich yet very bright and lifted with some gamey notes in the finish.

Food match:

Pink, seared duck, Chinese ribs, warm goats cheese and mutton curries.

Tasting notes:

This is the winery’s flagship Albariño, with grapes sourced from estate owned vineyards in O Rosal, in the south of Rias Baixas. An elegant style of Albariño driven by the coastal influence from the Atlantic, and from the Miño river which borders the region.

This is a zesty and persistent Albariño with a great mix of citrus and peach fruit, and a hint of honeysuckle on the palate. Fresh and classic in style but with an appealing texture and softness that makes it approachable.

Food match:

The classic match would be seafood – mussels and oysters, perhaps as a seafood risotto or pasta dish.

Big, bold and concentrated Carignan Noir that leaves its impression.

The small yields from this area and its unique soils and landscape give distinctive wines with personality. This wine is intense and complex with dark, rich fruit, delicate tannins and smooth mouthfeel. 

Food match:

Duck confit or shoulder of lamb. As a vegetarian option lentil and bean stew would compliment the wine just as well.

RIOJA, SPAIN

Tasting notes:

Whilst not exactly mainstream, white Rioja is now most definitely a ‘thing’. With examples like this it’s easy to see why. Produced solely from Viura and given 4 months in American oak to mellow you get just the right balance between ripe tropical fruit and toasty brioche.

Opulent aromas of pear and jasmine, with tropical notes and well-integrated but obvious oak. The palate is poised with vanilla oak characters, but left fresh by balancing acidity. Flavours of pineapple, crisp lemon, and brioche notes on the finish.

Food match:

Lobster or langoustines with cream-based pasta sauce, or roast chicken dishes.

JUMILLA, SPAIN

A full-flavoured unoaked Monastrell – capturing the essence of Jumilla!

This has bags of cherry and bramble fruit. A bright, fruit-forward style with plush bramble, plum and mocha characters, wrapped up in smooth, rounded tannins. This juicy and crowd-pleasing style of monastrell is really easy to get along with – offering a tasty and satisfying glass of red.

Food match:

Perfect with pasta, pizza, red meats and casseroles.

Tasting notes:

Falanghina from its heartland in Benevento, a fresh and appealing style.

Lightly tropical aromas with hints of citrus fruit and honeysuckle. Ripe lemon and apple characters, hints of pineapple and candied peel, and notes of white spice on the finish. Fresh and juicy with appealing minerality.

Food match:

Aubergine Parmigiana, gnocchi swith pancetta, spinach and Parmesan, or a simple Caprese salad with Buffalo Mozzarella.

D.O. VALLE CASABLANCA, CHILE

Tasting notes:

The first organic fizz from Chile! Chardonnay and Pinot Noir once again work in perfect harmony to produce a sparkling wine with a fine bead – Emiliana refer to this as ‘rosario’ which refers to rosary beads. Something of Chile’s warm climate vineyards comes through in a fresh pineapple nose over a biscuity palate with a touch of fresh apricot all freshened by that natural acidity inherent in the bubbles all freshened by that natural acidity inherent in the bubbles.

Food match:

This wine pairs well with dishes with mild cream sauces, raw and cooked shellfish, fresh summer salads, sushi, trout, and desserts made with red fruits and chocolate.

LANGUEDOC, FRANCE

Tasting notes:

The grapes are sourced from vineyards cultivated near to Lake Thau, set in a formerly volcanic region just inland from the sea.

This luscious and textural blend is very much a food wine; rich currant flavours provided by Grenache and tangy raspberry from Cinsault before a dry and fresh finish. Pale, dry, characterful and refreshing.
